When people hear minimalist, a lot of the time they may think “boring”! However, having a space that is serene and clean in a stressful time like college can be so underrated!
Your life will transform from the inside out when you finally have a space that you can come home to for unwinding and destressing.

I would start by doing some decluttering. Honestly, its hard to have a minimalist and calm room when you’re piled with so many possessions!
Decluttering your stuff before starting to decorate your room will make the room transformation suddenly feel like a life transformation.

I recommended Marie Kondo’s book “The Magic of Tidying Up” when starting out with your decluttering journey. She recommends to spend designated time on each area of your posessions, such as clothes, shoes, miscellaneous, etc.

Once you’re done with this step, begin the decorating process by choosing a few colors that will make up the scheme of the room. If you have a roommate, make sure to check in with them to see what colors they prefer!
A minimalist oasis consists of less items to make sure things are not overcrowding, white or neutral color tones, and relaxing components such as plants or a Himalayan salt lamp.
Put your own twist on it! The most important thing is that it makes YOU feel peaceful rather than stressed out after a long day at school.
