Everyone wants to know how to get glowing skin in the summer months, but no one talks about how to achieve it. Here are the top tips!

I believe that good skin comes from within, and that’s why it’s important to practice rituals that are not commonly focused on. Instead of hopping on the latest product trends, learn to take care of yourself from within and it will begin to show externally.
After years of struggling with my skin, I am here to pass along all of the knowledge I have amassed about how to achieve healthy skin. Keep reading to find out how to have the most glowing skin this summer!
This post is all about how to achieve healthy glowing skin!
1. Proper Nutrition
As much as we don’t want to hear it, we really are what we eat. The foods that we eat will inevitably always show up through our skin, which is our body’s biggest organ. The skin is the body’s way of trying to get rid of toxins that we put inside it.
This is why its important to be very intentional with what we choose to feed our bodies. I like to stick with a diet consisting of whole foods that have a low-glycemic index. Some of my favorite foods for glowing skin are:
- Wild-caught salmon
- Avocados
- Chia Seeds
- Tomatoes
- Sweet Potatoes
2. Regular Treatments
I was always the person who would underestimate the importance of getting professional treatments done on my skin. I said I didn’t want to spend the money but ended up spending it anyways on the trending skincare products I would see online. I was left with a bunch of toxic products that weren’t suitable for my skin type and a complexion nothing close to what I was trying to achieve!
Now that I’ve incorporated a bimonthly facial into my skincare routine, I have truly seen a difference. Along with the professional extractions and blue-light therapy my esthetician performs, she is able to evaluate my skin with her extensive knowledge and tell me what medical-grade products I should really be using.
3. Hydration
Hydration is one of the most important parts of achieving glowing skin. First and foremost, make sure you are getting an ample amount of water each day. This is something that easily slips over our heads, so I would recommend getting a water-intake tracking water bottle or app on your phone.
Besides water, you can increase hydration by drinking aloe-vera juice or eating hydrating fruits like strawberries, grapefruit, or cucumber. You will truly see a difference once your body is getting the proper hydration it needs!
4. Getting In Tune With Your Body
One point I want to drive home is that if you don’t put in the effort to get in tune with what your body is trying to tell you, there will never be much progress made with your skin. Your body, mind, and spirit are all interconnected. Therefore, its important to realize that your body feeling tired and run-down means you might not want to go on that 3-day bender after all, and if you do it could very well end up reacting through your skin.
Start to be more intentional with how you treat your body, and truly pay attention to what it is trying to tell you. Work with and not against yourself. Getting in harmony with your body is a game changer!
5. Clean Products
Going along with the idea of watching what we put in our bodies, we must watch what we put on our bodies just as closely! Products can have chemicals that go into your bloodstream, disrupt your hormones or do other funky things, and cause reactions such as acne or other skin problems.
I love using the app Yuka to scan my products and check if they contain any chemicals that could be harmful. Going through all my products and switching to cleaner alternatives has made a difference that I did not even know was possible! Try it out and let me know what you think.
